LOOKING FOR A NEW FUN SPORT TO PLAY??? WELL, YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE. WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF BICYCLE POLO.
Bicycle Polo was invented by an Irishman, Richard J. Mecredy in 1891. That year The Scalp and Ohne Hast C.C. played the first game in county Wicklow. The first international was contested between Ireland and England in 1901. The sport then became an Olympic event in the 1908 London Olympics with Ireland defeating Germany 3-1 to win gold. This ancient Irish sport is still played in the Phoenix Park. Why not come along and give it a go... We play in the Horse Polo Grounds beside the Zoo every Sunday at 11 am.
